Recovering

She's been doing okay today. Surgery is always tough in general. Her lungs were wet last night and today, but are not wet as of her last x-ray tonight. It's also expected that she has overall swelling and some chest fluid output. It doesn't mean the operation didn't work. It can take a few days for the output to stop entirely. She's just resting and recovering.

I'm starting to feel better and should be able to visit her by Tuesday. Please pray that God will let me know if I need to wait extra time to visit her, to make sure I'm not contagious without knowing it. We're asking God for her protection still because the flu is pretty rampant right now. Other things we'd ask you to pray for would be that this operation worked, for the decisions the doctors and nurses make about her care, and for God to comfort her emotionally through it all. Thanks to all of you who remember our family in your prayers!

I'll post again tomorrow after 12 with an update.

Also pnow that with each passing moment our sweet Father God is hearing our prayers to make each of you STRONGER and HEALTHIER and soon you will holding your sweet Gisele in your arms.
Praying that little Ethan is showing progress and that his mom and dad are encouraged and praising God for those healing steps.
All my love, Aunt Odette xoxo

    Medical History:

Born 2/7/14 eight weeks early with a large SCT tumor (Sacrococcygeal Teratoma) and lymphangiectasia causing severe chylothorax (aka pleural effusion).

She weighed about 4 lbs plus the 2.5 lb tumor.

Major five hour surgery to remove it on 2/13. Had to be resuscitated for about 90 mins when surgery was almost complete. It's a miracle she survived, and did not have significant brain damage.

The chylothorax caused a weak immune system and she passed away from a pneumonia infection on 5/21/14.
