she's doing okay today.  They're starting her on medicine to see if it can stop the fluid around the lungs. If it doesn't work they'll operate. We're waiting for the doctors to tell us when they're ready to have a team meeting about the condition of her brain. Now that she's on the nasal cannulae and her tube was taken out, I'm able to give her a pacifier. It gives her a lot of comfort during painful blood draws. It feels good to finally be able to provide comfort for her since I can't hold her. Also, this morning I was in need of some encouragement and direction from God about what he wants me to do at this time. He came through in a really cool way. I was I'm the kitchen early this morning when a volunteer named Derek was waiting for his group to show. We got to talking about Gisele and i shared what God has done. It just so happened that he was a Christian too, and he encouraged me in the Lord and it was just what i needed to hear. God used Derek to speak to me, and later used  Sameh to confirm the same thing Derek said. It was a really uplifting way for God to speak to me. God is good.

Tiffany, Ron, Tykei & Gisele,
Know that you are covered in prayer from all corners of the earth and beyond. We are so thankful knowing that our sweet Lord is guiding you through this.
I echo Jeannette’s comment on how thankful we are for this blog. We are literally on the edges of our seats with our desire to know how Gisele is progressing daily, hourly, and practically minute by minute.
Jeremiah 29:11, says, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
God is working wonderful miracles in this sweet child. We are overjoyed at this beautiful gift from God and as I mentioned in my letter to you “we are so looking forward to the day that you are ALL home together!”
Blessings to all of you, Odette

    Medical History:

Born 2/7/14 eight weeks early with a large SCT tumor (Sacrococcygeal Teratoma) and lymphangiectasia causing severe chylothorax (aka pleural effusion).

She weighed about 4 lbs plus the 2.5 lb tumor.

Major five hour surgery to remove it on 2/13. Had to be resuscitated for about 90 mins when surgery was almost complete. It's a miracle she survived, and did not have significant brain damage.

The chylothorax caused a weak immune system and she passed away from a pneumonia infection on 5/21/14.
