Looking positive

Today she's doing a bit better overall. Last night her chest output was pretty high, but it's slowed down a lot today. It was caused by the fact they had to replace fluids and just the stress on her body of undergoing surgery. They've had to give her some medicine to help get rid of the excess fluid and help her blood pressure get to a better place. She's been doing good with those things too so they might be able to get her off of the BP medicine soon. Her pain is well controlled. She's been calm today when she is awake. It's always good to hear. The fact her output has slowed down again is a good sign. It's still too soon to tell if the procedure worked but it's looking positive.

Praying continually for Gisele and all of you. Someday I want to see a video of her first ballet recital.

Glad to hear she is stable. This little girl is a fighter and God is holding her hand all the time I'm sure.

    Medical History:

Born 2/7/14 eight weeks early with a large SCT tumor (Sacrococcygeal Teratoma) and lymphangiectasia causing severe chylothorax (aka pleural effusion).

She weighed about 4 lbs plus the 2.5 lb tumor.

Major five hour surgery to remove it on 2/13. Had to be resuscitated for about 90 mins when surgery was almost complete. It's a miracle she survived, and did not have significant brain damage.

The chylothorax caused a weak immune system and she passed away from a pneumonia infection on 5/21/14.
