Gisele is very critical right now. Her lungs are very wet, and she might have bleeding somewhere according to recent labs. For the wet lungs, they're testing for  infection. They started "broad spectrum" medicine as a cover-all approach while waiting for results to know what exactly could be causing the problem.  I'll get updated later today on both issues as results come in.

3:30pm: Her head was checked for bleeding. No bleeding in the brain. The concern about bleeding is over.
I got to see her today for the first time in 15 days! I was so happy to see her I didn't even need to cry like I thought I would. I was too happy. :)

We are praying fervently for Gisele's little lungs to heal properly. So, SO happy that you FINALLY got to see her after such a long time and pray that is the last time you are apart like that again.

Thank you sweet Father God for the comfort you have provided to all of us during these past few months. As always we rely totally on You for your loving guidance and protection. Amen
All our love,
Uncle Chris & Aunt Odette xoxox

    Medical History:

Born 2/7/14 eight weeks early with a large SCT tumor (Sacrococcygeal Teratoma) and lymphangiectasia causing severe chylothorax (aka pleural effusion).

She weighed about 4 lbs plus the 2.5 lb tumor.

Major five hour surgery to remove it on 2/13. Had to be resuscitated for about 90 mins when surgery was almost complete. It's a miracle she survived, and did not have significant brain damage.

The chylothorax caused a weak immune system and she passed away from a pneumonia infection on 5/21/14.
